Azelaic acid possesses significant therapeutic uses in the treatment of hyperpigmentary skin problem, thanks to its ability in the inhibition of melanocyte (cell responsible for skin darkening) synthesis. However, its low water / oil solubility and high irritation properties enhance formulary difficulties and impact user experience.

For years chemists struggle to put together a molecule that has the skin-renewing power of azelaic acid, yet without the irritation. This leads to the innovative creation of Azeclair by Corum Inc. Azeclair features Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate (PAD), obtained by reacting two molecules of glycine and potassium with the chloride of azelaic acid. The result is a water-soluble active demonstrating skin-lightening, moisturizing, soothing and oil-normalizing abilities.
